Bluffview Tudor
This house had terrific bones, but contained all the elements you would expect from a 1980’s floorplan and design. Compartmentalized rooms, formal dining, small patio, popcorn ceilings, formal bar, etc. It was a great house, but it took us a while to realize it’s potential. Originally about 4000 square feet, we focused on making the spaces usable and family friendly. All of the rooms had a natural connecting point to a super large middle great room, and we worked hard to open the house to gain that open accessibility.
We removed an upstairs 5th bedroom and converted that to a loft / office area. The kitchen walls were removed and we converted the formal dining into a great office / work space. The outside rear patio was completely enclosed and we removed the walls to create over 600 square feet of outside living space. Sitting on the front of a half acre lot, the rear patio and living space gave great access to a park-like backyard with large deck and flagstone patio. Inside we replaced flooring with all wood floors and added a master suite with Cypress tongue and groove planks and Travertine stone in the bathroom. Landscape had a big part of making the feel of this home work and added significant curb appeal.
A great family house on a quiet cul-de-sac centrally located in San Antonio. Sold in November 2018.
